Family policies
What families ask us before a first day.
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
When to keep your child home
A child with a fever, vomiting or a contagious illness stays home and returns after a full day of being well. We know that is hard on a shift, so call us early and we will help you plan. If your child feels ill at Romper, we call you and a teacher stays with them until you arrive.
Drop-off and pickup
A teacher meets you at the room door at every drop-off and pickup. We release a child only to the people on your list, and we ask for ID from anyone we don't know. Tell us ahead of time when someone new is coming, and we call you if the plan changes.
Late pickup
If your shift runs over, call us. Your child stays with a teacher they know, and a lead teacher stays until the last child has gone home at 8:00 p.m. If a family is often late, Sridhar talks with them about a different shift.
Meals, snacks and allergies
Romper serves breakfast, lunch and two snacks, and families send labeled bottles and food for infants. Tell us about any allergy at the tour, and we ask again in private once you enroll.
Naps and safe sleep
Infants sleep on their backs, in their own cribs, with nothing else in the crib, and on their own rhythm. Older children rest on a cot after lunch, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., and a child who does not sleep has quiet play.
Closures for weather and holidays
Romper closes for a few holidays, and we post them in the lobby in the fall. When the hospital system opens late or closes for weather, we text families before the day starts and again if the plan changes.
